This part is dedicated to the co-balancing of insect feed. This involves mapping the nutritional requirements of the insects used in the project with the aim of providing an all year round plant-derived side stream feedstock. The aim is to increase the insects' conversion efficiency as well as regulating their composition towards specific applications.
WP4 will also evaluate safety aspects related to insect derived products, and will focus on determining the presence of pesticides, antibiotics, allergens, pathogens and heavy metals.
